SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL PALACE
England

Swarovski Crystal Palace – a dramatic new concept by Swarovski, the world’s leading manufacturer of precision cut crystal. Now in its seventh year, it is a revolutionary concept aimed at reinventing and revitalising the chandelier, one of the most evocative and emotive expressions of cut crystal.  Steeped in history and heritage, redolent of 18th century splendour and candlelit intrigue, the chandelier was frozen in time, undiscovered by the design community.  Whilst celebrating the rich traditions of the chandelier, Swarovski Crystal Palace has broken barriers, played with the rules and opened a new chapter in the history of lighting.

Swarovski invited world leading designers to conceive an atmosphere experimenting with the unique medium of crystal. The challenge – to push the boundaries of crystal and create contemporary interpretations of lighting, furniture and design. Their inspirations are derived from varied sources including the natural world, the visual arts and high technology. The results are dramatic, captivating, and give new meaning to lighting and design.

Visitors of Russian Design Show will be given an opportunity to see five artwork from Swarovski Crystal Palace project: Blossom by Tord Boontje, Tulsa by Michael Anastassiades, Unity Ring by DB Kim and two variations of Glitterbox by Georg Baldele. All of them will be placed in Phillips’ de Pury House.
